This blog just had to be created in commemoration of the latest development in post-factual politics; the concept of "alternative facts."
Here is the great Kellyanne Conway introducing this term to the American political lexicon.
I guess it is unsurprising that the alt-right believes in alt-facts.
Just as fascinating has been President Trump's attempt to purloin the term "fake news."
Fake news is technically information posted on what looks like a news website but is totally fictitious in the hope that it will be picked up and shared in social media as if it is real news.
But President Trump has taken to use the term to refer to anything that is reported in genuine mainstream media with which he disagrees. That so far has included the existence of the dossier prepared by a former MI6 agent or the reports of the crowds at his inauguration.
I guess it just goes to prove Trump's claim he has the "best words."
He has the best words by applying the Humpty Dumpty theory of linguistics - that words mean what he chooses them to mean.
Stay tuned as we learn more about the world of alternative facts, fake news and the destruction of American democracy.
